Services available to congregations
of Region 1

Region 1 is a "coming together" of Churchwide, Synods and Congregations to facilitate the "Doing of Ministry." This takes many shapes but in all cases, the aim is always the direct or indirect support of local congregations and their ministry to the community.

Special efforts are made to develop and train local leadership. Programs are a direct response to requests from congregations or synods.

"More Ministry Through Shared Resources" means more services and expert help are available to congregations because churchwide and synods join together to provide assistance to congregations through staffing and cooperative efforts.

Some of the services listed below are provided by Churchwide, using the regional grouping to facilitate the delivery system. Most regional ministries are provided by synods working together in a variety of ways. Regardless of which part of the church develops and provides a service, the concept is the same: we are in ministry together and we get more done when we work as partners.
