On the following pages are prayer requests from your representatives at work in the Lord's mission around the world. Also included are the names of those who are celebrating birthdays. Praise God that the work among the Karen people (Thailand) continues to grow despite significant losses in the 46-year civil unrest. Pray for the Lord's continued help and blessing.

Larry and Martha Meinzen, South Africa
Pray for our spiritual counselor, Nkosimathii Biyela, that he may continue his strong leadership. Pray also that he and his wife may have the strength to face the crisis of -their only child's cancer.

Pray for our deaconess, Doris, who is transforming a room in her small apartment into a Smini clinicw (at her own cost). Two local doctors are willing to give of their time to treat low-income patients. Pray that the Holy Spirit will bless this ministry.

Tim and Beth Heiney, Guinea
Pray with us for the new work underway in Guinea. Pray that the Holy Spirit is even now preparing the hearts of people to hear His Word. Pray that the evil that has held this territory so long will be broken.

Pray for us during our travels through the United States and eventually on to Africa, and for fruitful visit with those who are supporting us and our ministry.

Carl Selle, East Lansing, Michigan
Pray for Saad, a German medical doctor, just recently baptized. Of his baptismal day, he said, "This is the happiest day of my life." Pray also for the Lord's blessing on the beginning of International student ministry at Wayne State University, Detroit.

Todd and Kim Roeske, Philippines
Praise God for the believers in Petenit who have taken the initiative to begin building a church. Praise God also for our continued safety during several adventures on slippery slopes and flooded rivers.

James and Liisa Tino, Venezuela
Praise God that our Venezuelan members have continued to lead and teach the Sunday school, to give weekly children's messages, and to lead the youth group following DCE Tom Edelen's return, to the United States.

Praise God that the fourth draft of the Gokana New Testament has been completed and is now being prepared for typesetting. Pray that the Gokana people, learning to read God's Word in their own language, will receive Jesus as the Way, the Truth and the Life.
Morris and Jean Olson, Russia
Pray that the Holy Spirit will continue to bless the students at the Finnish Ingrian Seminary in Koltushi. Pray also for the instructors as they teach the Russians, and form relationships that will strengthen the church family.

Delano and Linda Meyer, Ghana
Pray for God's blessing on the church recently established in the village of Yunyoo, at the chief's invitation. More than 100 people gathered in the shade of a large tree for the opening service. Praise God also for the six assistant evangelists commissioned in Gbintiri.

Pray for the Lord's guidance as we seek a new director for Concordia School in Macau. Pray also for the success of our poster campaign as we endeavor to identify hearing-impaired children in Macau.

Pray that the Lord will bless our language study efforts. Pray also that the Holy Spirit will open the hearts of those with whom we are able to share Christ.
Mike Squires, Togo
Pray that the Naok believers will accomplish the building of a church and that more villages will follow their example. As small parishes consolidate, pray that they will work together to create strong, vibrant congregations.

Pray that more Ivorian men will be called for leadership training to serve as lay pastors in their towns and villages. Pray also for wisdom to efficiently use our limited resources for His mission of making disciples.

Pray for the congregation in Dapaon as they search for land on which to build their church. It is crucial that they have a church as a physical reminder of their faith, and as a base from which to proclaim Christ.

Pray for Rev. Abides Franco, who accepted the call of La Santa Trinidad congregation in Caracas. Vacant for two years, this older inner-city congregation with little growth in 20 years will be a challenge for the new pastor and his family.

Pray that the Lord will bless Pastor Yosai, his wife, Tomoe, and the members of Izumi Lutheran Church with a strong faith and a boldness to share the Gospel.

Praise God for Julius Okwo, who recently finished the seminary evangelist program. Pray that God will bless the many contacts he has already made with the Denya people (less than 1 percent are Christian).

Anthony and Carol Stainbronn, Botswana
Pray for our physical health and personal safety. Recently, our neighbor was robbed of his truck at gunpoint and two homes on our block were broken into. Most importantly, pray for the people of Botswana that they will grow in their faith.
