Vol 1 No 1, March 10, 1995
An Online Christian Outreach and Resource Newsletter

From the Editor: --- Welcome to the Premier Issue!

Welcome to the premier issue of Christian Connections. Within the pages of this quarterly newsletter you will find helpful hints, stories, interviews, and online resources to help your ministry grow. As chief editor and publisher it is my privilege to welcome you to this first issue of Christian Connections and to make your online ministry needs and wants heard and implemented within these pages. This newsletter will be a place to explore together the exciting Christian resources that await all those who travel the information highway, to make some detours, to travel to far away lands, and discover online resources and connections that meet the needs of contemporary Christian leaders and congregations and hopefully make the world a better place for us all.

God has blessed us with a wonderful tool through which we can communicate His Gospel to the world on the information highway. The computer is just now becoming friendly to use and economical for everyone. The InterNet allows Christians the world over to communicate easily and quickly, to find and put into practice ministry resources that meet everyday Christian needs without lengthy shipping delays or pain staking research. It is my privilege to be your host on each discovery issue to help you find these information treasures that await us on the Internet; information treasures that help one do ministry better, implement new ministries and still remain cost effective. In these pages we will get to know Christian brothers and sisters throughout the world, find people of like interest and ministry needs and work together on Christian projects that will help make a difference in the world as we share with and support one another in Christian ministry. This is one small place where Christians can find friends who will listen and if at all possible help as we get connected to one another.

I invite you to send your comments, suggestions, stories, helpful hints and ideas so that this newsletter can truly be your link to Christian growth, resource sharing, and fellowship. I pray this newsletter will become for you a place where Christ's work is done in moving us forward to the day of His return, to serve Him by proclaiming His name and sharing his Word on people's computer screen throughout the world, to earn the right to speak to a world desperately needing a Savior and offer Jesus Christ as the answer to every spiritual need. Feel free to share these articles, interviews, resource lists and email addresses with all your friends. Invite them to get online and get an issue of this newsletter so that all may benefit from our involvement together, sharing ideas, resources and ministries that together we may find answers to the ministry problems of today and together proclaim that glorious message of the angel on Easter morning, "He is not here, He is Risen just as He said. Go tell His disciples."

This months first issue is complimentary and will not only be publish online but a Web page has been made available at http://compumedia.com/~rgrothe/news/cc953100.html and a paper copy of this newsletter is being distributed to several dozen financial donors who have so graciously helped carry this ministry along financial in the last three months and to the LCMS congregations of the Northwest District. The NW District and a private donation helped make this possible. Those who send in or have sent in a subscription fee of $20 can expect four more quarterly issues in the coming months ahead, including the LCMS online people list updates. This quarters issue of Christian Connection focuses its attention on, "World Missions: Prayers Heard The World Over". If you have suggestions for future articles or themes you would like to see, please leave email below. May the Lord Jesus Christ bless our ministry together as we work and share, and speak boldly of His name as the Holy Spirit leads us in our connections together.
